Arsenal remain top of the English Premier League with seven games remaining as they eye their first league title since 2003/04, one that has felt a long time coming after three consecutive second-placed finishes under Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners also await a pair of quarter-finals: against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, and Southampton in the FA Cup. Their 2020 triumph in the latter competition – uncomfortably their only trophy under Arteta – remains their most recent, which made Sunday’s loss to Manchester City in the EFL Cup final at Wembley extremely hard to take.
