Former A-League boss Archie Fraser chats to us about the ground-breaking move by the NPL clubs manoeuvring for FFA board representation and the hot topic of A-League expansion. Of the recent meeting, Fraser said he’s hopeful it will lead to change. “I think it’ll have significant impact, purely because it’s probably the first time clubs – at that semi-pro level – have got together and I think the magnitude of the numbers that turned up is pretty incredible. The second level of the game has been pretty starved of any level of aspiration over the past few years – and that’s not the only issue – but to get 80 clubs to turn up with only 10 days to get the whole thing organised, shows there are a lot of issues. It was an interesting room to be in – there wasn’t a lot of anger, it was all well measured thoughts and points.” LISTEN NOW.
